7/28/2013 To Eastmoreland, to Market on Flickr.
Of great concern to many Eastmoreland residents is a spate of lot-splitting that is resulting in the destruction of homes (some of them very lovely) and the construction of two or more homes in their place (sometimes quite ugly).
Signs are now appearing to “Stop the Demolitions” as this particular struggle heats up. Of all Portland’s neighborhoods—at least on the east side—Eastmoreland is one of the most well-connected and powerful, but it remains to be seen whether they can halt this trend. (Or even whether that is ultimately advisable.)
