And one of the odder holdouts in the area: the Oregon Theater, a porn shop just across the street from trendy restaurants and expensive apartments. I see now I inadvertently caught someone walking out the door. Sorry, buddy.
The courtyard outside Salt & Straw, still quiet and a little sterile when we walked by around 10:00 AM on a Sunday. We drove past later in the day and the whole block was packed with people waiting for ice cream.
Not too long ago the building with “D Street Village” on the side was a parking lot for the former Nature’s/Wild Oats, where we’d park when we went to Pok Pok or Whiskey Soda Lounge. One thing this photo captures is the repeated interruptions of the sidewalk while all this construction goes on. In a ten block distance we had to cross Division at least three times because of closed sidewalks in the narrow corridor.
